Professional Development

Learning is an active process that is important in my nursing journey.  Aside from continuing education units (CEU’s), I also attend workshops, and seek other opportunities to enhance my nursing practice. This helps to ensure that my knowledge, skills, and attitudes are aligned with the most up-to-date, evidence-based practice in nursing and nursing education.  Even with advanced degrees, I view learning as a lifelong commitment, that continues to help craft and fine tune my teaching philosophy and elevate the nursing profession.

Service

As a school nurse, I understand the importance of serving vulnerable populations. At the heart of community service is promoting the importance of healthy habits, disease prevention, and being a voice for those who are the most vulnerable.

My passion for community health and wellbeing reflects in the community service volunteer opportunities I have chosen to participate in:

  • Living Branch Ministries Food Bank

  • Meals on Wheels

  • Taylors Free Medical Clinic

  • St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School
